Street Lighting Project Ahead of Schedule

We're thrilled to report that our street lighting upgrade project is ahead of schedule and under budget. The installation team has successfully installed 15 new LED street lights on Main Street, with residents already noticing the improved visibility and safety.

The project, which began in December 2023, was originally scheduled to complete by March 2024. However, thanks to favorable weather conditions and the efficiency of our installation team, we're now on track to finish by mid-February.

Key Achievements

  • 15 LED lights installed on Main Street
  • 60% reduction in energy consumption compared to old sodium lights
  • Improved visibility reported by 95% of surveyed residents
  • Project running 15% under budget

Community Impact

Local residents have been overwhelmingly positive about the improvements. Maria Khalil, a longtime resident of Main Street, shared: "The difference is incredible. I feel so much safer walking home in the evenings now."

The new LED lights not only provide better illumination but also consume significantly less energy, reducing the long-term operational costs for the municipality.

Next Steps

The installation team will continue working on the remaining sections of the project:

  1. **Phase 2**: Secondary streets (February 15-28)
  2. **Phase 3**: Park areas and walkways (March 1-15)
  3. **Final inspection**: March 20

We expect the entire project to be completed by the end of March, two weeks ahead of the original schedule.
